2022 MLB Trade Deadline Moves
A look at which major-leaguers, arranged by position, were on the move between the All-Star break and the trade deadline.
Issue #15
After a somewhat slow start after the all-star break, the final two days before the August 2nd trade deadline saw a lot of action. Many other writers have analyzed the trades already, so here I just wanted to provide folks with a visual that includes all the major-league level players who have switched teams (new team indicated).
This might be the most crowded depth chart image I ever create! And again, these are just the major-league level players that changed teams. For the minor-leaguers/prospects, see the last article I linked in the list below.
One thing I’m seeing here is a lack of shortstops. Abrams obviously was a major piece in the trade for Soto and Bell, and Sosa became expendable when DeJong came back to the Cardinals.
And wow, a lot of relievers were involved in these trades. These days there are a lot of relievers on MLB rosters, so I guess that isn’t too surprising.
