Kaline had a great second season, but his rookie year in 1954 wasn't very strong. In 138 games, he had 4 HR, 9 SB, a .276 average, .305 OBP, and .347 SLG. That was still good enough to come in third in the AL ROY vote that year, but it doesn't compare to what guys like Ichiro, Judge, Oliva, or Williams did as rookies.
